ACTION GOALS
OBJECTIVE: The
Business Development Partnership represents the Daytona
Beach/Halifax Area’s public and private sectors in promoting
job creation, economic growth and diversification in the
area.
ADVERTISING
/ MARKETING
- Develop BDP brand to
promote the Daytona Beach/Halifax Area.
- Promote economic
development opportunities and draw attention to the Halifax
Area
- Initiate direct
mailings to selected economic development consultants
PROSPECTING
- Increase and encourage
corporate expansions and relocations
- Work to increase the
economic vitality of member companies through business
development programs, networking events and programs to
assist small businesses to grow and prosper
BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
- Provide necessary
information or contacts to help companies expand or
relocate
- Develop and promote
the Economic Providers Alliance to provide training,
education and other resources to aid start-ups and
existing small businesses
INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Enhance the Halifax
Area’s role as an international business location
through the efforts of the Halifax Area Trade Council (HATC)
- Offer businesses a
preview of the entire import/export process and how to
compete in the global marketplace
PARTNER ALLIANCES
- Meet monthly with City
managers and economic development professionals on
issues important in the future development of the
community.
- Coordinate a “Best
Practices” tour of the Halifax Area
- Provide assistance
with various studies, local trade show participation,
monthly meetings, business recruitment and retention
programs
ANNUAL LUNCHEON /
RECEPTIONS
- Hold “State of the
Partnership” luncheon to update members on latest
relocations/expansions and recap goals and
accomplishments for the year
- Hold two power
breakfasts and two Partnership P.M. events to brief
partners on important issues and opportunities in
the region.
VOLUSIA COUNTY
CHAMBER ALLIANCE
- Meet on
regular basis with the other Chambers of
Commerce county-wide to nurture the common goal
of bringing new business to the area
- Assist
existing businesses to the mutual benefit of all
concerned
2007 ACCOMPLISHMENTS

- Website was redesigned
and e-business card has been update to include a new
community video
- E-card distributed at
the OEM Trade Show in Boston and at CoreNet Global in
October
- New BDP logo was
designed for all marketing materials
- Economic Profile
Magazine was completed and distributed
- Attended Florida
Redevelopment Association conference and the Central
Florida Commercial Association of Realtors
- Produced and
distributed four editions of the BDP quarterly
newsletter
PARTNER ALLIANCES
- Met with Real Estate
Partners on a monthly basis to review inventory of
available properties
- Met with the
City/County Partners on a bi-monthly basis
- Participated on the
City of Daytona Beach Economic Development Advisory
Board
- Hosted a delegation of
15 partners on a “town center” tour of sites throughout
Central Florida
- Participated in the
MD&M trade show in New York City and the OEM trade show
in Boston

RECEPTION
- Hosted first
“Partnership P.M.” at Daytona Beach International
Airport in June
- Provided social and
professional interaction to members interested in
economic development issues in the Halifax area

Providers Alliance consisting of seven county-wide
organizations that provide training, education and other
resources to aid start-up and small businesses

the City of Daytona Beach to develop a sister city
agreement with the Province of Hainan in China
- Hosted several
delegations from Eastern Europe, Japan and Poland
- Produced and
distributed four editions of the new HATC quarterly
newsletter
PROSPECTING
- Worked with
approximately 20 prospects that have expressed
interest in the Halifax Area
- Participated in
several community tours for visiting prospects
- Attended the
annual meeting of CoreNet, the international
association for site consultants and real estate
companies
- Attended the
National Site Consultant Showcase hosted by Area
Development Magazine
- Attended the
